March Updates 2020 NFC

Welcome, Spring! March was another exciting month at NFC.

We hosted our second online community meeting around the topic of our upcoming Farmer’s Market. We are still working on finalizing the details of this project, and we welcome your input. If you know of any local BIPOC or women-owned businesses or vendors that may be a great fit for this market, please contact us.

Our project managers Evan Folds and Cierra Washington also got to attend and lead a panel discussion during this year’s Feast Down East Local Food Conference. We were grateful for the opportunity to have a moment to share the vision of the Co-op with so many new people!

On March 30, we hosted a socially distanced in-person event at the Hemmenway Center in partnership with Voyage. Our project manager, Evan Folds, hosted a discussion about community agriculture alongside some wonderful volunteers. We then worked to clean up the garden beds at Voyage and prepare them for this season of planting. We will come back together as a community on April 17 to plant seeds for spring. If you’d like to join us for that event, we’ll be sharing more details soon!
