“You are what you eat.” From the water we drink, to the air we breathe, and most notably to food we eat; our bodies rely on us to provide the proper nutrients.
Here’s the good news: improving your diet does not have to completely change your current lifestyle. It is a process of slowly implementing changes that create a more well rounded routine. Doing what is best for you and your body is what matters the most.
No matter where you are in life, the path to change can start now! One helpful tip is to create a positive atmosphere around meal and snack times. Start by planning one healthier meal each week, or preparing homemade snacks to nibble on all week long. Incorporate ingredients you have been anxious to experiment with, or build your meal around an existing staple so you have a better idea of what to expect. Once you begin looking forward to mealtimes, you can start to enjoy what you put in your body and the benefits you gain from it. Remember: big changes happen one small action at a time.
To celebrate March being National Nutrition Month, we wanted to share a simple, healthy recipe with you. We hope you enjoy it. Let us know what you think if you try it!
