About Our Dinners

Since June 2022, the Northside Food Cooperative (NFC), in dynamic collaboration with lowercase leaders, Feast Down East, VOYAGE of Wilmington, Dreams of Wilmington, and Port City United, has orchestrated 40 vibrant community dinners. Picture this: over 2400 plates of delectable food served, embodying more than 800 hours of dedicated community service. Inspired by the grassroots ethos of the Black Panther Party and their Free Breakfast Program, our organizations are on a mission to make these dinners a symbol of radical love – a space where neighbors nourish and care for one another. With the recent federal decision to cut extra COVID relief EBT benefits and regular food benefits in March 2023, our community dinners are set to become an even more vital lifeline. Imagine savoring a delicious, locally sourced meal, packed with nutrients and flavor, all while forging connections in our rapidly evolving community. Join us for the Northside Community Dinners – not just a feast for the stomach, but a celebration of unity and shared safety. We firmly believe that breaking bread together reduces the likelihood of harm, so come, join us, and experience the transformative power of communal nourishment and connection. Your seat at the table awaits!
