The Northside Food Coop is five years into our effort to bring a grocery store to Wilmington’s Northside community. As we continue to work toward that goal, Frankie’s Outdoor Market is the next best thing: a weekly farmers’ market that provides the Northside with the fresh, healthy, affordable food our community needs and deserves.

Located at Portia Hines Park, Frankie’s Outdoor Market is a safe haven where local farmers and vendors can share their harvest with the community at an affordable rate. As we work toward fulfilling our mission of a full service grocery store, we’re excited for the opportunity to connect with the community while addressing food insecurity in an immediate and tangible way.

Frankie’s Outdoor Market is an extension of the Northside Food Cooperative, and is supported financially by a grant from Novant Health and donations from the community. 

The market operates on a small annual budget which supports an array of operating expenses including insurance, rent, signage, promotions, and a part-time market manager. Vendors at the market retain all proceeds from their sales; the market does not receive a percentage or take a cut.
